Sardinia in low season

Published on 24 October 2018 by clicksardegna

Have you always wanted to visit Sardinia but you think it would be too expensive for your budget?

No problem, because the right answer is here!

Forget about the crowed summer and visit Sardinia in low season.

Sardinia is a tourist place only for tourist, but local people use to live a quiet life, not expensive, specially in low season.

In order to live like a Sadinian, then my suggestion is to do like Sardinian do!

Most villages in Sardinia have a weekly fresh market that sells local fruit and vegetables, cheese and salami, clothing, kitchenware, locally made leather goods, locally made pocket knives and fresh flowers.

I prefer to buy local and go to the town’s weekly market every Monday morning. I fill my re-cycled cotton sacs with enough in-season produce to last about a week. You can find these markets in hight season and in low season too.

I also buy about 400gr of aged pecorino and local salami at the market. It’s fresh, it’s local and I’ve bought like this all my life and I wouldn’t change a thing!

There are many shops where you can get your daily meal:

  • Buy local from the farmer at his farm or farm stand.
  • Buy from the local supermarket.
  • Buy from larger supermarkets like Sigma, LD, LiDL, Nonna Isa, Auchan, Sisa, and many others.

If you want to organize your holidays in Sardinia without spending too much money, then your best option is to visit Sardinia during low season, and trust me, this will be the best decision you will ever make.I know that not everyone can afford to take time off in September/October or April/May.

Book in low season and you will save lots of money and time

If you are lucky to be able to book in low season, then take advantage of my suggestion, and pay less than alf price of what people pay in hight season.

If you want days at the beach maybe it is rather late, but there’s plenty to do in Sardinia apart from the sitting on the beaches, and I’d say sunshine is pretty likely most if not all the days. www.holiday-weather.com gives annual statistics.

But if you can’t manage to have some day off during low season, then decide to share!

Sharing holidays with family, friends and colleagues is the best way to save money! And with many people you will be able to rent a stunning villas with swimming pool at the average price of an apartment.

Enjoy your stay.
